Spring Activites

The heart of spring is the rebirth of all things after a long hard winter.   This isn’t to say that you haven’t enjoyed winter or the things that come with it.  Maybe you’re a fan of snowboarding, skiing or sitting by the fireplace.  There’s nothing wrong with any of these things.  You may also be someone that prefers to be outside with the warmer weather and do those activities that are enjoyable only in the spring.  If this seems like something that you’d enjoy, consider some of these spring activities and get back to being active.

Water!

Water is a broad topic, which is why I chose it.  Consider that you can once again start swimming, canoeing, kayaking, triathlon, scuba diving or going to the beach.  Water activities are something that most everyone enjoys some part of.  Consider changing things up and trying something new where the waters concerned.  And remember, water activities don’t have to be limited to outdoors.  There are gyms with pools where you can do water aerobics, take swimming lessons and other exercise classes that will help you to become trip.

Mountains!

Mountains are also something that is a broad topic.  You can camp, fish, hike, backpack and explore.  Any of which can be done at a leisurely pace, or more intense if you’re in to competition or challenging yourself.  Taking a trip to the mountains can allow for you to see nature at it’s finest.  If you chose to go to the mountains earlier in the season, you’ll be able to catch nature transitioning from winter to spring.  It’s a beautiful site to see natural waterfalls.

Dry Land!

If you’re one that prefers to not be on the water and not going to the mountains, consider that you can do things on dry land.  There’s biking, walks and even planting a garden.  Each of which have their own merits to make your life more enjoyable.  As with the other two categories, dry land will allow for you to spend time with your family and build memories of those fun and exciting events that you did.

The Down Side!

While all of these activities are fun, if you’re not careful you’ll end up needing medical attention.  Don’t forget that you no longer have a tan and that sun can burn you quick and easy.  You’re going to need to make sure that you use sunscreen on the kids AND YOU!  The you is important, because parents tend to remember to take care of their children, but often forget to take care of themselves.  If you get a bad burn, you can go to an urgent care and there are things that they can do to help.  The same is true for sprains, breaks and any number of other accidents that can happen when you go from being inactive in the winter to active in the spring.

Remember to start off slow and warm up.  If you should get injured places like Boca Regional Urgent Care are there for you!
