ARMEX Blast Media

ARMEX is one of the industry leading baking soda-based abrasive. ARMEX had a network of authorized distributors worldwide that sell portable and contained soda-blasting equipment systems, accessories, and part as well as the full line of ARMEX Blast Media Formulas.

ARMEX Blast and Cleaning Media are baking soda-based abrasives for the removal and cleaning of hard coatings and contaminants that can be used comfortably and efficiently without disturbing the base material.

ARMEX can be used to remove contaminants and coatings without distortion or damage to a wide range of substrates, including wood, stone, metal, fiber, glass, even carbon. Soda blasting is a very effective method of cleaning and depainting when one or more of the following points is important:

No roughening at the entire surface, therefore conventional abrasives cannot be used. The flexibility of soda blast media will prevent damages to e.g. hydraulic parts or (surrounding) rotary.

Because ARMEX is completely soluble in water, it is ensured that no residue is left behind in e.g. engines or process installations.

ARMEX performance is very exceptional. Because the ARMEX crystal is soft and breakable, it will not damage bearings, seals, or other moving components like hard abrasives will. It quickly exposes surfaces for non-destructive inspection and testing, with no metal removal or cracks closure. Its superior contaminant removal provides for a cleaner surface, which is fundamental to maximizing coating performance. Also, ARMEX formulations are non-flammable and non-sparking and can be used in hazardous duty areas.ARMEX is not just baking soda. It is a
uniquely formulated sodium bicarbonate abrasive produced for blasting. The protective additives in ARMEX avoid clumping and clogging issues and are essential for uninterrupted operation, especially in high humidity environments.

The ARMEX soda blast media comes in different particle sizes to suit each application. It is considered a one-pass media. Unlike other abrasives ARMEX is extremely friable, it fractures
into much smaller particles upon impact. This results in a more intense cleaning action softens the impact on substrates and also changes the particle to a fine dust no more suitable for removing coatings.

Using ARMEX with the proper tools maximizes cleaning performances and minimizes media use, often providing excellent productivity because concern for surface deterioration even at high pressures is minimal and this make ARMEX process to be as cost effective as other abrasive processes.

ARMEX media provides a superior worker and environmental safety profile compared with solvents, caustic chemicals, high-pressure water and sandblasting. The media contains no free silica, and it’s suitable for use in FDA-regulated facilities.

Contrasted to other blast media, little ARMEX is needed to depaint or clean a square meter of surface area. The result is less trash generated. Also, ARMEX media in and of itself is non-toxic and is easier and less expensive to dispose of. I, it can be disposed of in a sanitary landfill and can be washed into a sanitary sewer because it's soluble in nature. In fact, it may also be useful as a buffering agent during the waste treatment process.

It quickly and thoroughly clean or remove paint virtually any surface with little or no masking or pre-washing. It is ideal for difficult and hard-to- reach areas, reducing or eliminating solvent cleaning and hand tooling. ARMEX is ideal for turnaround situations for removing a coating or contaminant, or other alteration of that surface because many cleaning and depainting jobs can be done while the plant and equipment are still in operation.
