Taking Care of Your Car

Your transportation is probably an important part of your life. Getting to work, buying groceries, trips on the weekend, and getting the kids to school may be part of the constant use. Here are a few tips about taking care of that important part of your home base.

It feels a lot better to be in a car that is clean. I think that,  even subconsciously, having order around you affects you sense of confidence and inner order. The CEO’s that I have known always take their car in for a detail or at least a drive through car wash and vacuum each week, usually on a Friday afternoon with a haircut.

My first car was ruined because I neglected the oil. This is something to schedule and stay on top of. You can probably do this yourself, but if you take it to be professionally done be advised that there are big price differences between services, so shop around.

Did you know that you can have small  dents repaired without affecting the paint? It is called paintless dent repair or PDR for short.

You probably have car insurance, at least I hope so, but have you considered roadside assistance. Our car got stuck once in an unusual way and I was surprised that our heavily loaded insurance did not cover any type of pulling or tow without an extra $200. Did you know that there are services for around $20 a month that will come and get you and two your car or bring you some gas in the case of a problem or an issue on a trip? Some of these services even will get you a motel and a car rental if there is an accident! Look online and compare the services. I would go with a company that is national and has been around more than a decade.
